Remedial Massage

At Mosaic Health, our massage therapists are fully qualified and members of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists.

How can Remedial Massage help me?

Massage is simply the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body – the muscles, tendons and ligaments. A massage therapist’s hands are his most important tool through which he not only treats the patient but also detects physical and emotional problems. The massage therapist palpates the patient’s body to determine the condition of the tissues and the likely source of any pain, and thus the correct form of remedial treatment.

The benefits of massage include:

  • Pain management
  • Increase in blood and lymphatic flow
  • Reduction of stress and anxiety
  • Shorter recovery time after exertion
  • Reduction in headaches
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Increase range of motion
  • Relief from muscle tension and stiffness
  • Improved posture

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage deals with pain and discomfort. Remedial massage uses a range of techniques, such as trigger point therapy and myofascial release, to address pain associated with injury and disease, and problems such as postural alignment and scar tissue.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage, also referred to as ‘relaxation massage’ is a wonderful massage that deeply relaxes through lighter pressure and slow soothing strokes. Swedish Massage is particularly helpful in reducing anxiety and stress, leaving you feeling balanced and refreshed.

Corporate Massage

Could corporate massage improve the productivity in your workplace?
Corporate massage has gained increased popularity with many organisations, both large and small.
But why are companies offering regular massage to their workers?
It turns out there are many benefits of massage in the workplace, some of which include the reduction and relief from fatigue, increased alertness, enhanced thinking, and an improved sense of general well-being.

Sports Massage

Sports massage assists with every stage of your fitness program. Sports Massage aids in the removal of toxins post sport, and reduces the risk of injury in pre sport massage. Sports Massage is also great for maintaining the body, ensuring mobility, and flexibility of muscles, tendons and joints. Sports massage also reduces injury recovery time.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of the muscle tissue. It breaks up scar tissue and loosens contracted muscles. Deep Tissue Massage is a very popular form of massage as it is relaxing, however at the same time addresses problems which contribute to reduced range of motion, postural imbalances and generalised muscle pain.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Massage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very specific technique that stimulates the body’s lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the body’s first line in defence against disease and infection; it transports metabolic waste, excess fluid, toxins, and bacteria, out of the body.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised technique which involves light mechanical stretching of the connective tissue. This moves the lymphatic fluid under the skin towards the lymphatic nodes, where the fluid is filtered. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is great for detoxification, reducing oedema due to injury or lymphedema and is great for pre and post-surgery.
